Lile’s Apple Scone

¼ pound butter
4 cups flour
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 cup sugar
1 beaten egg
Salt
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons Baking Soda

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, milk and dry ingredients. Makes soft dough.

Halve dough and roll out on greaseproof paper. Lay already cooked apple on half. Sprinkle with a mix of sugar, cinnamon and spice. Fold the other half over and sprinkle with a mixture of sugar, cinnamon and spice on top of dough. Makes 2 trays. Cook like scones. Around 30 – 35 minutes at about 180
