Long Lasting Play Dough

1 cup plain flour
Half cup of salt
1 cup water
3 dessertspoons cooking oil
2 teaspoons cream of tartar

Mix all together with a few drops of food colouring. Keep mixing until all lumps gone. Then put in saucepan and very slowly heat it.
Keep stirring
When the dough starts to come away from the sides of the pan take it off the heat.
When it is cool enough take it out of pan and knead it for 3 minutes or so.
Soak pan straight away.
When play dough cools it will feel right.

You can add vanilla or peppermint essence. Store in sealed bag or container
