- 2 Cups Basmati Rice – Washed and Drained
- 3.5 to 4 cups water (or use the lines on your own Rice Cooker)
- 1 Cup Frozen Peas (I pour boiling water on these to thaw a little)
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 4 Cardamom Pods
I make this in my rice cooker, as it makes it very easy.
Turn the rice cooker on and let it heat a little: Add butter, Cumin seeds, turmeric, salt, garlic and cardamom pods.
Saute these together for around 2 minutes, then add the rice and water and cook as usual.
When it has finished, fluff it up with a rice spoon and add the peas. Wait for about 5 mins for the peas to heat though and take out the 4 Cardamom Pods.
