Emma’s Naan Bread (Makes 8 Naan)

1 ½ Cups Warm Water
1 Tablespooon Sugar
2 Teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
1 teaspoon Salt
3 Cups Flour (Plus a few tablespoons for bench)
Combine warm water, sugar and yeast in a bowl. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.

Add salt and flour. Mix thoroughly. Knead dough on a floured bench about 20 times and form into a tight ball. Put dough in a well oiled bowl and cover with a damp towel.

Put in a warm place to rise for 35 – 45 mins. Dough will not rise much, but it doesn’t need too

Turn Dough on to a floured Bench and divide into 8 pieces. Roughly roll out to 1/8 inch thick.

Grill or cook naan in a frypan for 1 – 2 minutes each side. Spray with non-stick spray if necessary

NOTE: 2 teaspoons dry activated yeast = 4 teaspoons fresh yeast
