{"id":778,"date":"2016-10-11T21:02:04","date_gmt":"2016-10-11T08:02:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/debskitchen.co.nz\/?p=778"},"modified":"2016-10-11T21:15:59","modified_gmt":"2016-10-11T08:15:59","slug":"okonomiyaki","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/debskitchen.co.nz\/?p=778","title":{"rendered":"Okonomiyaki"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><\/p>\n<ul>Okonomiyaki<\/strong><\/ul>\n<p>2 cups of flour<br \/>\n2 2\/3 cups of water<br \/>\n1 tspn. of baking powder<br \/>\n4 eggs<br \/>\n2 small sachets Dashi Powder (Around 2 teaspoons)<br \/>\nBonito Flakes (Optional)<br \/>\n2 finely chopped spring onions<br \/>\nHalf of a cabbage, sliced<br \/>\nThinly sliced Pork slices<br \/>\nOkonomiyaki Sauce<br \/>\nKewpee Mayonnaise<\/p>\n<p>The above recipe makes around 5 pancakes of Okonomiyaki, which is enough to serve 4 &#8211; 5 people.<\/p>\n<p>1.  Sift flour and baking powder, add dashi powder.<br \/>\n2.  Beat Eggs, add water to eggs.<br \/>\n3.  Make a well in dried ingredients, and slowly and egg mix to this until no lumps. (sieve if you get lumps)<br \/>\n5.  Mix in cabbage and 1\/2 of the spring onions.<br \/>\n6.  Heat fry pan with a little oil.<br \/>\n7.  Using a soup ladle spoon around one scoop of mix into the pan. Move the edges in to keep it round.<br \/>\n8.  Gently press the slices of pork into the top of the mix.<br \/>\n9.  Cook the first side for around 3 minutes, then flip gently.<br \/>\n10.  Cook the meat side for another 3 minutes.<br \/>\n11.  Slide the pancake on to a plate (meat side up), and decorate with Okonomiyaki sauce and Kewpee Mayonnaise.<br \/>\n12.  Cut into wedges with Bonito flakes and spring onions sprinkled on top.<\/p>\n<p>Note:  Dashi Powder, Bonito Flakes, Okonomiyaki sauce and Kewpee Mayonnaise can all be brought at Kosco or the Asian section of your supermarket.<\/p>\n<p>You can add whatever you like.
