{"id":758,"date":"2016-07-19T19:58:37","date_gmt":"2016-07-19T07:58:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/debskitchen.co.nz\/?p=758"},"modified":"2016-07-19T20:00:49","modified_gmt":"2016-07-19T08:00:49","slug":"tofu-fritter-yoghurt-dipping-sauce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/debskitchen.co.nz\/?p=758","title":{"rendered":"Tofu Fritters &#038; Yoghurt Dipping Sauce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Fritters<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<p>1 egg<br \/>\n3 tablespoons plain yoghurt<br \/>\n1\/2 red onion, finely chopped<br \/>\n1 teaspoon Sweet Chili Sauce<br \/>\n1 cup grated potato<br \/>\n1 block firm tofu, grated<br \/>\n4 tablespoons cornflour<br \/>\n3 tablespoons flour<br \/>\n1 teaspoon baking powder<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon Padi&#8217;s Masala mix<\/p>\n<p>PREHEAT oven to 180C. Line an oven tray with baking paper or foil<\/p>\n<p>1. In a large bowl, whisk egg, yoghurt, Chili Sauce and onion. Add remaining fritter ingredients to bowl and mix well to combine.<\/p>\n<p>2. Heat some oil in a fry-pan on low-medium heat. Place \u00bc cup measures of fritter mix into pan and lightly press to flatten, until about 1cm-thick. Cook fritters, in batches, for about 2 minutes each side, or until golden.<br \/>\n3. Transfer fritters to tray and bake for 6\u20138 minutes, or until cooked through.<\/p>\n<p>Notes:  I used potato grated, but you could easily use pumpkin or kumera. I put the Tofu in the freezer for half an hour before grating it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yoghurt Dipping Sauce<\/strong><\/ul>\n<p>1\/2 cup plain yoghurt<br \/>\n2 tablespoons mayonnaise<br \/>\nZest of \u00bd lemon<br \/>\n1 teaspoon lemon juice<br \/>\n1 teaspoon Padi&#8217;s Masala mix<br \/>\n2 teaspoons sweet chilli sauce<\/p>\n<p>Mix all the dipping sauce ingredients together, and refrigerate until needed.<\/p>\n<p>Serve the fritters with dipping sauce on the side.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fritters 1 egg 3 tablespoons plain yoghurt 1\/2 red onion, finely chopped 1 teaspoon Sweet Chili Sauce 1 cup grated potato 1 block firm tofu, grated 4 tablespoons cornflour 3 tablespoons flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1\/2 teaspoon salt 1\/2 teaspoon Padi&#8217;s Masala mix PREHEAT oven to 180C.
