{"id":60,"date":"2013-10-13T09:05:08","date_gmt":"2013-10-13T09:05:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/debskitchen.co.nz\/?p=60"},"modified":"2014-06-12T20:21:33","modified_gmt":"2014-06-12T08:21:33","slug":"seafood-chowder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/debskitchen.co.nz\/?p=60","title":{"rendered":"Seafood Chowder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Seafood Chowder<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>500 gram white fish<br \/>\n2 cups marinara mix<br \/>\n2 tablespoons butter<br \/>\n2 potatoes peeled and cubed<br \/>\n1 cup water<br \/>\n\u00bd cup frozen peas<br \/>\n2 tablespoons butter<br \/>\n1 \u2013 2 cups milk<br \/>\n\u00bd cup water<br \/>\n1 onion chopped<br \/>\n1 cup chicken or fish stock<br \/>\n\u00bd cup corn kernals<br \/>\n5 tablespoons flour<\/p>\n<p>Put fish and marinara mix in shallow pan with 1<sup>st<\/sup> amount of water. Cover and cook on low heat until fish flakes.\u00a0 Drain when cooked and reserve liquid.<\/p>\n<p>In another pot melt 1<sup>st<\/sup> butter, add onion and potato.\u00a0 Cook over moderate heat for 2 \u2013 3 minute.\u00a0 Add water and stock.\u00a0 Cover and cook for 10 mins until vegies are cooked, then add peas and corn and cook for 1 min.<\/p>\n<p>In the pot which the fish was cooked in melt the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> lot of butter, add flour. Mix to a roux.  Then add milk slowly. Stir well and bring to boil.. Add vegetable liquid and reserved fish liquid and bring to boil, stirring constantly.\u00a0 Add vegetables and flaked fish and adjust seasoning.\u00a0 Thin with milk if necessary.
