{"id":1483,"date":"2025-10-04T19:44:41","date_gmt":"2025-10-04T06:44:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/debskitchen.co.nz\/?p=1483"},"modified":"2025-10-04T20:00:22","modified_gmt":"2025-10-04T07:00:22","slug":"muhammara","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/debskitchen.co.nz\/?p=1483","title":{"rendered":"Muhammara"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3 Red Capsicums (sliced into strips)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4 Tablespoons Olive Oil<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 cup toasted walnut pieces<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 cloves garlic<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 teaspoon Sumac<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1\/2 teaspoon salt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 teaspoon chilli flakes (less if you don\u2019t like heat)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 Tablespoons Pomegranate Molasses<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1\/4 cup Parsley<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I Sprayed the peppers with oil, and browned them (skin up) in the airfryer for 12 mins. (Pic below)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Could do the same in a frypan or oven. When the skins are bubbled and blackened; put them in a bowl covered with cling wrap for 10 mins. Then take the skin off them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">in a large bowl add the capsicum pieces, toasted walnuts, Smoked Paprika, garlic, parsley, chilli flakes, Sumac, salt and Olive oil.<br>Mix in food processor or use stick mixer. I like to mix until smooth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Refrigerate and serve with Pita chips or vegetable sticks.  Goes great with carrot or celery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I also added a teaspoon of Nora Picada dried peppers ( this is not hot). Definitely optional, and next time I might try a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice.
